About Writing and the Atlantis Short Story Competition have some history together – back in 2015 Raffael, founder of the competition, gave me some of the most useful advice I’d had on how to write a short story and every year he continues to provide quality advice to authors. Now, this year, they’ve gone into print! Not only has Raffael taken the time to write a little bit about it for us, but for a short time readers of the blog can get a discount on this excellent collection of stories. I’ll let Raffael take over!
“I’m Raffael, founder of the atlantis-shortstorycontest.com. The Atlantis Short Story Contest is a non-profit project that has been around since 2011. In collaboration with Keith, I am delighted to enrich Little Wonder Radio Plays with some free and curated content to read – just for you. Little Wonder Radio Plays do a fantastic job when it comes to cradling our eardrums. And this book will fire up your eyes and imagination in amazement.
Over the years, the number of submissions increased – so did the quality of the submitted stories! The feedback service that is part of the contest has proven to be valuable and has led to a number of successes by participating writers, who had revised their work based on the suggestions provided. Indeed, Keith was a participant in the contest in 2015 and we have been in touch ever since. He fondly remembers the perceptive critique he received and details his experience in a blog post.
The latest contest attracted so many impressive and awe-inspiring stories by writers from around the globe; thus, it was time to honor these magnificent narratives with a proper presentation. Given that many writers prefer reading a collection rather than single PDF files on a website, the idea of an ebook and a paperback version of the anthology came into being. Several months later, the Atlantis Short Story Contest Anthology features selected outstanding entries written by writers who have a story to tell. As a paperback and amazon kindle ebook. You can read more about how stories have been selected inside the book (chapter: “Afterword”).
The ebook is available for £0.99 for a limited period of time for you only. Buy here
Those of you who want to have something in their hands or are looking for a fancy Christmas gift (the cover is painted by Australian-based award-winning artist PD Robertson) may prefer the stunning paperback. All books are printed on demand and are of high quality with a glossy cover. Christmas delivery is guaranteed by Amazon.
