Welcome to Space Station Zeta:
Almost certain not to explode and fall into the sun!
What is Space Station Zeta?
Space Station Zeta is a five-part Sci-Fi Radio Comedy about intelligence, true love and taking the piss out of Donald Trump. It turns out it is very easy to take the piss out of Trump. You just quote him. But, after a brilliant public reading of the play with Moving Parts, it became clear that I had written something a little more ambitious than a straight Ben Elton rip-off. It’s a story about what it means to be intelligent, and when and how that makes you a person. It’s about relationships with people who have different ideas of what love means, and very different priorities. And it’s about finding out who you are by taking the time to learn about other people, which, lets be frank, isn’t something Mr Trump does very much. Take a listen. Oh, and if you’re an AI geek, there’s lots of easter eggs in there for you (if you aren’t, don’t worry, you won’t notice).

So, what, you just made a whole radio series?
Well, we were just starting to make individual play podcasts and there was such a positive feedback from the live show, and a fabulous crew of actors that were keen to get involved. On a very rainy day in Paris, with the metro breaking down and the trams on a flash strike, we gathered together in the amazing Stephanie Campion’s living room and recorded the play. Good actors can make even mediocre lines interesting, Owen Robert’s graphic design is just fantastic, and Chris Taylor has done exceptional work pulling the soundscape together. Plus we obeyed the golden rules of action-comedy: at least one man in a dress and at least one explosion per episode.
Who are these wonderful actors and how can I hire them for my major Hollywood production?
Glad you asked! Find out about the cast here.
And who is this Keith Crawford geezer who conned everyone into recording his play for him?
Yep, that would be me. You can find more of my plays here. I also write for theatre, have published some novels , and once wrote for the Economist (that was so cool). If you’re from the BBC, I will write anything for you, on any budget, for any deadline. Yes, I love Doctor Who that much.
