Please give me 5 minutes of your time to help Little Wonder grow!
Little Wonder Radio Plays, our full cast audio drama company, needs your help to grow! Take 5 minutes, boot up your social media brain (ie. click, click, swipe, drool), and help a baby business become a toddler business 😊.
This post is in two parts. The first part will take less than 5 minutes and will help us by networking your social media accounts with ours – raising our profile and making sure you can keep up with all our latest adventures. If you already have social media accounts, you only need part (a) – and in 300 seconds time you’ll be back to watching cat videos and I’ll be very grateful.
The second part is only there for those of you who don’t have social media accounts but would still like to help. I explain the different formats and give you directions on how to get started. This will take you a little more than 5 minutes but will also bring you into the 21st century. Welcome! We have cake!
1. Help Little Wonder by networking with your social media
If you already have at least Twitter and Facebook, and possibly also Pinterest, Google+, Instagram and your own website, then this one is easy. Click through and like/follow by pressing the button circled in the picture, then following the instructions.
If you don’t have at least Twitter and Facebook set up, skip down the page to part 2, get your social media accounts set up, then come back to part 1. That’s going to take you a little longer than 5 minutes, but the time invested will be worth it.
Back? Ready to to some mindless clicking! Lets go!

Hit the big blue “Follow” button next to “Little Wonder Radio Plays”
(PS. I’ve used Oliver’s Instagram account because Instagram won’t let you see your own page as if you were a visitor – Little Wonder will have different pictures, just click the “follow” button in the same place. Oliver’s Instagram is well worth following while you’re at it!)

Already on social media and done all this in a whizz? Thank you! You’ve made a big difference! You may now go back to doing something less boring instead 😊
Not really on social media and not sure how it works? I’ve written a guide to help get you up and running. Be brave and come over to the dark side in part 2.
2. Help Little Wonder by setting yourself up on Social Media
If you’re still living somewhere in the 1990s (I sympathise) then you may not have any or all these social media accounts, and you might be a bit scared that you don’t know how to use them. This section of the post is for those of us who are still technological philistines.
First, we really need your help, and to help us you don’t need to suddenly become a computer whizz or super active on the internet. Just make the account, follow a couple of things that interest you, and then follow the instructions in part (a) of this post. It’s easy, and intuitive, and once you’ve done it you can honestly just forget about the whole thing if you like.
Second, if you’re any sort of artist in the modern world you really need to be on social media. In this section I’ll point you in the right direction to get you started, whether it’s something you want to learn to use or you’re just being nice enough to help us out.
There are three levels: Basic, intermediate, and advanced, depending on how brave you are.
So, all you need is a photo of yourself on your computer, and a little bit of time to get started.
Basic
The three essential platforms you’ll need to support Little Wonder are Twitter, Facebook and Google +. Once they’re set up you can forget about them. Don’t be scared, it’s very easy.
Great for getting simple messages out, networking with creators across the world, and ranting about the latest thing Donald Trump said on the media. We publish everything we record on twitter, so it’s a good way to keep with our latest work.

Twitter is good for longer posts, getting and sharing information in groups, and keeping up with friends you just don’t have time to phone/meet up with any more. You’ll find all our latest plays on our Facebook page, and there are a great many other theatrical and arts groups in Paris on Facebook.

Google +
People who work for Google will tell you that it is a vastly superior alternative to Facebook. Trouble is, only people who work for Google use it like that. What it is very good for is tying things together across the google search engine (thus raising your and our profile – seriously, Google+ is very good for this), and letting you log into all sorts of different things without going to the trouble of creating your own account

Intermediate
Pinterest is a tool for gathering together ideas, articles and images you find on the internet and putting them into folders to help you research and have great ideas. People use it for planning everything from a holiday to a novel to a wedding. We put up pictures from rehearsals, little videos, and images from our work. It helps promote our work because Pinterest helps tie together things that interest people with similar interests – so if enough people

Instagram is what replaced Facebook for the yoof. It is highly visual, works best from your mobile phone, and is mostly about posting and commenting on images. I think. Unlike Pinterest, where I bung anything that is interesting and remotely connected to radio plays and drama, Instagram is home for pictures of the Little Wonder family. So, it’s not just about us putting up pictures, it’s also about you sharing your pictures. A mockery. I imagine Instagram is an excellent forum for gentle mockery.

If you’re a creator, you should have a website. This is going to take more than 5 minutes. A lot more. But if you’re involved in Little Wonder and you don’t have a little site up explaining who you are, how to contact you, and with some examples of your work – you’re a crazy person.
If you’re not involved in Little Wonder and don’t want to set up a website (very sensible) – well done! Your work here is done! Now that you have some social media accounts, go back to part (a) and help Little Wonder.
I recommend WordPress because it is free, easy and everyone else is doing it. Set up an “about” page that says who you are, a page with some examples of your work, and a “blog” where you post what your thinking about time to time and “reblog” other peoples work (with their permission.) Hot tip: if you reblog and embed our radio plays we’ll be very happy (especially ones you may have been involved in). When you come to wanting to do that, throw me an email and I’ll talk you through it.

Why does this help Little Wonder?
The more people we have following/liking/commenting and sharing our platforms, the higher we will rank on search engines and the easier it will be for people to find us.
There’s also a decent change that, if you’re reading this, you know at least a couple of people who would be interested in free plays. Free stuff is good, right?
The five minutes spent liking and following us makes a real difference to the dozens of people who volunteer to make plays for Little Wonder. Thank you for your time.
