The judges have judged, and the Longlist for the Little Wonder Short Radio Drama Competition 2018 has been compiled. We will announce the names and plays on Monday at noon Paris time, but between here and there we will be tweeting 50 “yes” comments from our judges in 10 batches across Saturday and Sunday. This will help you get an idea of what our judges liked and were looking for, as well as keeping us all exciting for the big announcement!
Please remember that critiques of plays are by their nature subjective, and that a “Yes” from one judge was not enough to get a play on the longlist. That being said, feel free to get terrifically over-excited if you think you spot a comment about your play 😉
After the longlist announcement on Monday we will take two weeks to put together detailed feedback of these plays, and all authors will have a chance to revise and resubmitted before the Shortlist is chosen (announcement on November 26th) and performed by Moving Parts on December 16th. The winner will be announced on New Year’s Eve.
While all that is going on, I shall be working through the scripts of everyone who didn’t make the longlist and where possible sending feedback, encouragement and well wishes. We had three hundred plays submitted, so if I don’t get to you at soon or you don’t hear from me at all don’t be too discouraged – keep writing, keep dreaming, and keep striving to be a better writer.
I’ll also write and publish a series of articles on the most common, most catastrophic mistakes that some otherwise very good writers made but resulted in instant rejections.
